Electromagnetic chucks for grinders are essential accessories in grinding machines, mainly used to secure workpieces. Stable and accurate workpiece holding is critical during grinding operations. The electromagnetic chuck provides strong magnetic holding force to firmly clamp the workpiece on the grinder, preventing displacement and vibration during machining and ensuring machining accuracy and surface quality.

It operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When electric current passes through the coil inside the electromagnetic chuck, a magnetic field is generated. The magnetic field penetrates the chuck face, magnetizing the workpiece and holding it against the chuck surface. The holding force can be adjusted by controlling the magnitude and direction of the electric current.
To maintain the performance and accuracy of the electromagnetic chuck, high-quality products shall be selected with attention to material, manufacturing process and accuracy grade. During operation, regular cleaning and maintenance are required to avoid chips and debris on the working surface from impairing magnetic holding. The chuck must be operated in accordance with relevant procedures to prevent overload and overheating. Magnetic force and accuracy should be inspected periodically; any deviation shall be adjusted or repaired promptly.
